Everett – Day 1
// July 20th, 2010 // General
So I’m currently sitting in Everett, WA 3 days out from my first Strikeforce title defence. I guess technically we’re almost at 2 days before – but considering it’s 11:30pm we’ll still count it as 3. Adam and I left Victoria this morning at 9:10am and made it to Seattle around 10, only to be held up in the customs line for an additional 20 min.
After getting picked up by our driver, Will, we met up with Ester and Casey from allelbows.com. They are doing a video series pre and post fight for AOL fanhouse, so we hung out with them for a while. We went to the doctor to get the basic physical and eye exam done, then went to Red Robins where I grabbed a plain salad with grilled chicken and salivated as Adam ate cheese sticks and a caesar wrap…mmmmm
After eating, we made our way to the hotel where I had a few interviews with the Vancouver Sun and Sports Illustrated Online. Once finished, Adam and I relaxed for a few minutes (by relax I mean Adam went on his computer and I went on hold with IT support as my internet wasn’t working), before heading out to pick up a few necessary items like distilled water.
To close out the day it was dinner (which wasn’t very tasty even though it was chicken and broccoli) watching WipeOut while our food digested and then a workout before calling it a night. FINALLY, my internet got fixed, so now here I am sitting in bed writing this.
Tomorrow should be another busy day, with an interview at 10am and then trying to find a salon to get my hair braided for the big day! I’ll keep you all posted.

You have a lot of people behind you and you are as good as others say you are.
Aside from the fight: The piece about saying your parents weren’t bad parents, you are just different and like to spend time alone and be really physically fit is great – you have a true martial art habit of not judging, blaming, or faulting others. In that aspect,you are a real role model for others, especially the younger students at ZUMA.
Good Luck Sarah!

Good luck on your next few days and the fight is all yours. Our small city of Vic is totally behind you. Hands up, chin down and you can get through anything.
