Fight Week Day 2-3
// July 23rd, 2010 // General
So it’s now Friday (fight day) morning and here I am sitting in my hotel. I have to say that Everett doesn’t have many places to get decent food – we’ve been trying to find a decent chicken breast all week and are yet to succeed; however, I did find some pretty good garlic bread after weigh ins last night!
A lot has been going on the past few days. On Wednesday, I woke up first thing and called around to get my hair done. After getting referred to 4 different places, I finally made an appointment for 2pm with a girl named Nicole. I did an interview with someone from the Toronto Canadian press and then Adam and I went in search of breakfast that wasn’t Denny’s…we ended up at Ihop. For the record, if someone in Everett gives you walking directions and says, “just turn left or right on Broadway,” ask how long down that road you have to walk. I think it must have taken us 35 min to walk each way.
We got dropped off at the hair place and while I was doing that and a few interviews (Victoria Times Colonist and setting up a time with Crooklyn from Tapout Radio) Adam went to the mall. I met him there after I was finished (but first I did the 15min walk 3 times as I made it all the way to the mall, forgot something so had to walk back to the salon, and then walked to meet Adam again). We finished off the night with a quick bite to eat, a light training session and then I started my weight cut.
Yesterday was just as busy…interviews for Strikeforce, photo shoot, interview with Croklyn at Tapout Radio and then finished cutting weight. The Washington Commission requires that you get to the weighins REALLY early; therefore, I was on weight by about 3 pm for a 7pm weigh in!
Everything went really well and I ate myself silly last night – I started with some garlic bread and salad and then ordered some pasta with chicken. I’m feeling good this morning and ready to have fun tonight!

Conratulations Sarah, great fight. That slam was awesome. Hope you get more top billing fights. You are the best Showtime has, they need to promote you more. Keep on knocking them out!
Way to go Sarah, been watching you for a while on Showtime. You are a very impressive fighter. That slam was awesome. You do deserve top card billing on showtime. Hope all keeps going well.
